Role: Community Engagement & Event Support Coordinator
Hours: Full-Time

Role Purpose:
In this key role, you will be the bridge between Mainstreet Whanganui and our valued members. You'll build strong relationships, facilitate engaging workshops, generate a range of communications for membership and stakeholders, liaise with WDC and offer event support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Building & Membership Support: Cultivate strong member relationships, act as a primary point of contact, and develop strategies to increase engagement. Create and facilitate sub-working committees.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with local businesses, community groups, and the Whanganui District Council to achieve shared goals.
- Event Support: Assist with planning, organising, and executing large-scale events, contributing to logistics, budgeting, and marketing.
- Communication & Administration: Maintain effective communication channels, manage databases, and handle administrative tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or membership support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Event support experience and a willingness to be part of a team.
- Workshop facilitation skills.
- A passion for Whanganui and its CBD.

Role: Operational & Engagement Coordinator
Hours: Full-Time

Role Purpose:
The Operations & Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of our street team, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing essential support for events. This role also includes a key component of member engagement, building relationships and understanding their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Coordination:
- Roster management and timesheet processing.
- Organizing leave cover and staff training.
- Providing horticulture assistance and guidance.
- Operational Oversight:
- Organizing repairs and maintenance.
- Ordering annual bedding, hanging baskets, and monthly supplies.
- Ensuring contract standards are met.
- Managing invoicing and quoting.
- Health and Safety:
- Serving as the Health and Safety representative.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Conducting incident reporting.
- Council Liaison:
- Attending monthly council contract meetings.
- Preparing monthly council reports.
- Liaising with the council regarding complaints and additional work.
- Event and Traffic Management:
- Creating and organizing traffic management plans for contractors and events.
- Liaising with external contractors.
- Event support and organisation.
- Member Engagement:
- Actively engaging with members to understand their needs and provide support.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Mainstreet Whanganui members.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in coordinating operational activities.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing rosters and timesheets.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience in event support and traffic management.
- Ability to liaise with council and external contractors.
- Proven experience in membership engagement or a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
