Board Members 2021

Rachel Brandon

Executive Board Member & Chair of Mainstreet Whanganui

Business and Property Owner

I have been a building owner & Mainstreet retailer for the

past six years.

I feel it is important to have

board members who understand the role of Mainstreet from the other side of the table.

This is why I wish to sit on the board for a third year. I bring with me honesty, enthusiasm &

a female touch.

Pat Clay

Executive Board Member and Deputy Chair

Business Owner

A career as an accountant led to Pat living in the UK and the US before returning to NZ and a change of career.  After establishing Inkt online, Pat and his wife decided it was time to return to his roots and chose to live in Whanganui.  Though we didn’t know it at the time, the work of Mainstreet was a key part of our decision in where to live.  Inkt has since opened a store on Victoria Ave, and has been well supported both by locals & visitors.

Cathy-Lee Amer

Executive Board Member

Cathy-Lee Amer was born and raised in Whanganui, a keen sports and fitness person. A long-time member of Marist Netball. She is the Owner and Managing Director of Pita Pit Whanganui located in the top block of Victoria Ave. Cathy – Lee and her family have always loved Pita Pit food for its freshness, variety, and the fact that it is very healthy for you. So, when the opportunity came up to take over the local Pita Pit franchise, she needed little encouragement. Day to -day operations are very much Cathy-Lee’s responsibility. She will be there by 8am preparing for a 10am or earlier opening and is supported by a great team.

Cathy – Lee brings her background and experience in hospitality, food and customer service to the Mainstreet Board.

Christina Emery

Executive Board Member

Christina is back on the Mainstreet Board after a break of several months. She first joined when she was General Manager of MediaWorks Whanganui and loved the idea of bringing her marketing and advertising skills onto the board in order to help support the organisation and the members.

Since leaving MediaWorks and taking up a more community focused role, the passion for marketing and advertising still lies there, but she now is also passionate about inclusivity and diversity of the community and how that can bolster the economy for Mainstreets members and of course, Whanganui as a whole.

Steven Kerridge
